Our Services
We rescue, preserve, and refine films
Digital Film Retouching & Restoration
We retouch and restore film and video material in professional 2K, 4K, and 6K workflows — for feature films, documentaries, archive material, television productions, and artistic moving-image projects.
Our work includes the removal of dust, scratches, tears, tramline scratches, mold, flicker, instability, warping, color degradations and other image-related defects. Our goal is precise restoration that reduces damage, improves image quality, and preserves the original character of the material.
Contemporary Film Retouching & Shot Rescue
We support productions, cinematographers, and filmmakers working with newly shot analogue material and damaged individual shots.
When a shot is affected by dust, camera and gate hair, scratches, dead pixel, scanning artefacts, residues, or flicker, targeted retouching can often prevent valuable material from having to be replaced or reshot.
This service is especially suitable for 16mm, 35mm, and Super 8 projects, festival submissions, music videos, commercials, graduation films, and artistic productions.
Complex Damage — X-Ray Damage & More
X-ray damage, chemical reactions, processing errors, and severe image artefacts require particularly sensitive and image-accurate restoration.
We analyse the material shot by shot and develop a suitable retouching strategy to reduce distracting patterns, stains, streaks, or unstable image areas. Special care is taken to preserve grain structure, photographic quality, and the character of the material.
Especially with newly shot analogue film, retouching should correct technical damage without changing the look of the film.
Stabilisation, Denoise & AI-Assisted Optimisation
We provide colour and image stabilisation, flicker reduction, denoise, degrain, and further digital image optimisation.
AI-assisted processes are used in a targeted and controlled way — not as blanket automation, but as an additional tool within a professional restoration workflow.
Our focus is on a natural result: calmer, clearer, and technically cleaner, without looking artificially smoothed or altered.
Quality Control & Master Review
We advise archives, filmmakers, and production partners on the planning of restoration projects.
This includes assessing the material, developing suitable workflows, selecting appropriate processing steps, and coordinating scan, retouching, grading, mastering, and archive requirements.
With our experience in both analogue and digital workflows, we can realistically assess projects and help balance effort, quality, and budget.

Project Coordination
Upon request, we coordinate individual processing steps and work closely with archives, institutions, laboratories, post-production houses, and freelance specialists.
We support projects in a structured way, from the initial material check to final approval. Throughout the process, we focus on clear communication, transparent workflows, and reliable execution.
Title Design & Motion Design
With our background in motion design, we also offer title design, simple animation, and graphic work for film.
This includes opening and end credits, inserts, subtle motion design elements, and graphic adjustments that integrate visually into the respective project.
Data Retention & Project Completion
After the work is completed, we retain project data until final approval. This allows corrections, approvals, or technical follow-up questions to be handled flexibly and securely.
Depending on the scope of the project and prior agreement, longer data retention can also be arranged.
Documentation & Restoration Report
For restoration projects, we can provide clear documentation of the work carried out upon request.
A restoration report can include the condition of the source material, the main restoration steps, technical specifics, and final project parameters.
This documentation is especially useful for archives, funding bodies, institutions, and productions that require transparent documentation of the restoration process.
Cooperation with Film Lab
Our specialization is digital film retouching and restoration. Through our partnership with Andec Filmtechnik GmbH, these services can be integrated into a complete restoration and digitization workflow.
Andec is an established film laboratory and preservation facility specializing in high-quality film digitization. Their workflow covers every stage of the process, from initial film inspection and preparation to film repair, scanning, color grading, audio restoration, mastering, and digital delivery.
Andec operates a professional scanning infrastructure, including two ARRISCAN XT scanners with Wetgate capability and a DFT SCANITY HDR equipped with a Sondor optical sound unit.
For restoration projects, this means that analogue film expertise, high-quality scanning, and precise digital restoration can be combined within a coordinated workflow. We contribute our expertise in digital damage repair, restoration, and quality control, while working closely with Andec to support projects from the original film element through to the final digital master.
The result is an integrated workflow that brings together laboratory services, scanning, grading, audio restoration, mastering, and digital film restoration—efficiently, professionally, and always tailored to the specific needs of the material.
